Our Story

Born in Belleville

ShawarMO started with one obsession: bringing the bold, smoky flavours of authentic Turkish döner to the streets of Belleville, Ontario.

From the Streets of Istanbul to Belleville

ShawarMO was born from a deep love of Turkish street food — the kind you find sizzling on a vertical rotisserie at 2 AM in Istanbul, wrapped in warm lavash with garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.

We spent years perfecting our marinades, sourcing the right spices, and mastering the slow-roasting technique that gives our döner its signature flavour. When we brought the truck to Belleville, the response was immediate.

Today, ShawarMO is Belleville's go-to for halal shawarma — whether you're grabbing a quick wrap for lunch, feeding your team at a corporate event, or discovering the Shawarma Poutine for the first time.

What We Stand For

Did You Know?

The word döner comes from the Turkish dönmek — meaning "to rotate." Our vertical rotisserie spins all day, slow-roasting the meat to perfection with every turn.

That's the difference between real shawarma and everything else. You can taste it.
